Prym wooden embroidery hoop

An embroidery hoop is used to keep the fabric taut while embroidering. This ensures your stitches lie smoothly on the fabric. It also makes embroidering much easier! This beechwood embroidery hoop is made in Europe and is of exceptionally high quality. The wood has a beautiful, smooth finish, and the gold-colored retaining piece is very sturdy. You can tighten the retaining piece extra tightly with a screwdriver if necessary. This ensures the fabric is securely fastened in the hoop.

Available sizes

The beechwood embroidery hoop is available in 5 different sizes: 13, 16, 19, 22, and 25 centimeters . This size indicates the diameter of the inner hoop. For example, with the 13-centimeter hoop, you have a working area of 13 centimeters on the fabric for embroidery. The embroidery hoops are shipped as letterbox-sized packages; except for the largest hoop (25 cm), which is shipped as a parcel.

How do you use an embroidery hoop?

Embroidery hoop as a guide: Loosen the screw on the closing piece so you can remove the outer hoop. Place the inner hoop on a clean, flat surface and lay the fabric you want to embroider on top of it. Depending on the thickness of the fabric, loosen the screw a little more. Now slide the outer hoop over the inner hoop, and the fabric should already be fairly taut. You can now tighten the screw a little more and pull the fabric a little tighter. The fabric should ultimately be as tight as a drum in the hoop. But not so tight that the fabric (and the pattern on it) stretches and distorts. You can always move the embroidery hoop over the fabric by loosening the outer hoop. This is useful for large embroidery projects, such as a tablecloth. Embroidery hoop as a frame: An embroidery hoop primarily serves as a tool for holding fabric taut. But these days, it's also trendy to hang your embroidery in it. You do this the same way as the method above, only you neatly work away any excess fabric. For example, by trimming the fabric until it's only 1-2 centimeters overhanging and attaching it to the back of the embroidery hoop with glue (Pritt or a glue gun).
