Flexi embroidery hoop
This flexi embroidery hoop is made of plastic and doesn't have a locking piece like the traditional hoops in the shop. Instead, the outer ring is made of a flexible, rubber-like material that fits snugly around the hard inner ring. The hoop has a metal hanger so you can hang your embroidery immediately after hooping it. The wood color and grain texture give the outer ring a woody appearance.
The oval embroidery hoop with wood structure is available in three sizes:
- Small: 10 x 14 cm
- Medium: 12 x 17 cm
- Extra large: 20 x 25 cm
Because the outer ring is made of a flexible material, you can also put it on rotated a quarter turn so that the pendant sits on the wide part.
How does it work?
Fortunately, hooping fabric in a flexi embroidery hoop is very easy! Remove the outer hoop from the inner hoop. To be safe, wipe down the inside of the hoop with a cloth to ensure that no dirt or dust gets on your embroidery fabric. Place the inner hoop on a clean, flat surface. Lay your fabric or embroidery over it and then press the outer hoop over the inner hoop. Pull the fabric taut at the sides until your embroidery is neatly strung in the hoop. This video by Pumora shows you how to neatly finish the back.
Nice as a frame for your embroidery
Because the flexi hoop doesn't have a closing piece, it's not ideal for use while embroidering. Thinner, slightly smoother fabrics, in particular, could shift more easily. The flexi hoops are perfect for use as a frame for your final embroidery.
Embroidery tip: When embroidering, it is better to use a wooden embroidery hoop or a plastic embroidery hoop with extra grip.
