Elbesee embroidery hoop

The English family-owned company Elbesee produces embroidery hoops of the highest quality. Made of beechwood, the hoops have smooth edges and are beautifully polished. At Iris Embroidery, you'll find this brand's embroidery hoops in three different sizes: 10 , 15, 20, and 25 centimeters in diameter. They feature a sturdy, high-quality gold-colored locking piece that is easy to tighten and loosen. This, combined with the neatly finished wood, ensures that the Elbesee embroidery hoop keeps your fabric securely taut. Shopping tip: All embroidery hoops are shipped as letterbox-sized packages, except for the 25 cm hoop, which is shipped as a parcel.

Personal favorite

I've tried quite a few embroidery hoops, and these are my favorite! I love using them for my own embroidery projects. They look beautiful, making them perfect for framing your embroidery and hanging it on the wall. They're also fantastic to use while embroidering. The fabric stays securely in place, and their smooth curves make them comfortable to hold. And that's what they were designed for: as an embroidery aid. Because the hoop keeps the fabric taut, embroidery is easier, and your stitches look better on the fabric.

How do you use the embroidery hoop?

  1. The Elbesee embroidery hoop consists of two parts: an inner ring and an outer ring with the locking piece. Loosen the screw in the locking piece until you can separate the outer ring from the inner ring.
  2. Place the inner ring on a flat surface, such as a clean table. Then place the fabric you want to embroider on top of it.
  3. Take the outer hoop and tighten the screw slightly until it just fits around the inner hoop. Now place the hoop over the fabric and inner hoop and press down. If this is too stiff, you can loosen the screw a bit.
  4. The fabric should now be nicely taut in the hoop. If not, pull the fabric a little tighter at the sides.
  5. Tighten the screw firmly so that the outer ring clamps securely around the inner ring and your embroidery fabric does not shift during embroidery.
