Transferring an embroidery pattern with Vlieseline Solufix

Vlieseline Solufix is one of the most popular products in the shop. And I can see why! It's perfect for embroidery on garments, if you want to get an embroidery pattern on dark fabric, or if you want to print your pattern. Now this wonder product is also available in a convenient A4 size! This means it arrives without wrinkles and is the perfect size for your printer.

Properties of the Vlieseline Solufix A4 sheets:

  • Handy A4 format
  • 1 package contains 10 sheets
  • Suitable for drawing and writing with pen and pencil
  • Also suitable for printing with a laser printer or inkjet printer
  • Self-adhesive
  • Dissolves completely in water
  • Material: 100% PVAL (this is the same soluble material that is also found around dishwasher tablets)

How to use Solufix for embroidery:

  1. Draw your embroidery pattern on the rough side. You can trace it if you already have one. Or print directly onto the rough side of the sheet.
  2. If necessary, cut around your design(s) and peel off the foil.
  3. Stick the Solufix onto the fabric you are going to embroider on and press firmly.
  4. Embroider over your pattern.
  5. Tip: Sometimes your needle can become a little sticky due to residue from the Solufix (for example, in warm, humid weather or if your hands are sweaty). Clean your needle with some rubbing alcohol and you can continue embroidering smoothly again.
  6. Once you've finished embroidering, wash the Vlieseline Solufix. It dissolves completely in water.

Order some beautiful DMC threads, a set of sharp embroidery needles, and embroidery scissors, and you're ready to embroider.
